Our Heritage
Maine Distributors is actually a story of two great beverage distributors coming together as one. Robert Flynn started Maine distributors in 1964 with only a handful of employees and a few different brands to distribute. During that same time period, Robert Solman was operating his distributorship in Caribou,Maine, Solman Distributors, and servicing only Aroostook County, the most northern county in the State of Maine.
Over the years, both of these companies experienced fast growth distributing Anheuser Busch and various other brands. Both companies completed expansion after expansion and their team of dedicated employees grew rapidly. In 1998, the two distributors joined forces and a merger was formed. Maine Distributors territory grew to what it is today covering approximately 2/3 of the State of Maine geography.
Our Staff
Maine Distributors' greatest asset is its employees. They are all part of the extended company family. We are proud of our team and treat our people the way that we expect our customers to be treated, with respect and the appreciation that they deserve.
Our Community
We love our customers. From our larger populated areas like Bangor, our tourist regions such as Bar Harbor and Greenville, and to our numerous Canadian border towns, we are blessed with some of the nicest and most savvy customers around. Our service area is largely made up of small farming, coastal fishing, and timber towns with great hard working and friendly people. We come from these towns, and the customers we have are also our friends and our business partners. We enjoy working together with them toward greater mutual success for all.
Our Facilities
From what started with small warehouses and a few trucks and cars on the road delivering products is now a fleet of 22 delivery trucks, 25 vans, and 150,000 sf warehouse facility. We operate day and night servicing our accounts throughout the day, and building the orders to be delivered the following day during night. Tractor trailers arrive from Aroostook county every night to pick up loads and return that same night to the depot in Mapleton.

Our warehouse is CEW certified (temperature controlled) as well, allowing us to store products at the optimal temperature, ensuring our customers get the freshest products possible.
Maine Distributors is a third generation family-owned beverage distribution business that has been servicing its customer since 1964. Our company distributes hundreds of high quality brands including domestic, import and craft beers, flavored malt beverages, wines, energy drinks, teas and bottled water. Referred to by our customers as "Maine D", we are proud to be celebrating our 57th year of bringing world class beverages and service to our valued customers.
Our distribution area encompasses almost two-thirds of Maine's geography including the greater Bangor area, the Bar Harbor/Acadia regions, Greenville and Moosehead Lake region, the very most northern customers in Fort Kent, Maine and everything in between. Maine Distributors is headquartered in Bangor with a Mapleton, Maine depot in the northern most county of our territory.
